Length of class: 3 to 4 hours

Sewing Basic 101: We will teach you the basic of sewing, from names on a sewing machine, basic terminology, and how to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin. We will do two entry level projects to be determined at a later time.

You will need to buy a beginner’s supply kit that will be sold at Quilting Memories.

Class will be 1 1/2 hours at the shop located at 500 N. Kentucky (entrance on 5th street) for $30.00 a class. The class will be a one on one class. The date and time can accommodate the students availability. Student must be 10 years or older exceptions may be considered.

Mother/Grandma and child Project (9 and older)

This project is for grandma or mom with their grandchild or child.

The project will take 2 hours approx. The cost will be $35, that includes the class fee and the fabric to make a pillowcase and two scrunchies.

Items Needed: ruler 3 1/2” x 13”, pins or clips, sewing machine, seam ripper, off white or some light thread, 100% cotton, scissors, rotary cutter, ironing wool mat, and a small iron.

*You may rent a sewing machine for $10 a day (you need to supply the thread).

Class dates and times will vary to accommodate small groups.

Pillow Talk Class!

I have a project for you!

A decorative pillow (12” x 16”) where you will learn to make half-square triangles (HST) two different ways and you will have a small taste of a technique called “paper piecing.”

The project will take 2 classes (3 hours each) to complete. The cost will be $50, (a one time fee). What is included is a 12” x 16” pillow, Four- 1/2 yards of four pre-selected fabrics, a colored copy of a pattern, and batting of 14” x 18”.

Items Needed: sewing machine, ruler, pins or clips, seam ripper, thread 100% cotton, scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat, ironing wool mat, and a small iron.

*You may rent a sewing machine for $10 a day.
